RAC officially one of the UK’s fastest-growing mid-market private businesses

07 OCT 2019

The RAC is now the tenth fastest-growing mid-market private business in the UK, as revealed by the publication of The 2019 Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250.

It is the first time the RAC has broken into the league table’s top ten – up from 17th out of 250 companies in 2018 – and clearly underlines the business’s strong growth, in a year which has seen it win significant new commercial contracts, grow consumer member numbers, and launch a number of industry-firsts to provide customers with an unrivalled service at the roadside.

As well as adding Groupe PSA and Saga as clients, 2019 has seen the RAC roll out its unique All-Wheels-Up recovery technology, bringing a flatbed recovery capability to its patrol vans, as well as its Heavy Duty 4x4 van and EV Boost mobile vehicle charger – investments that together mean drivers are better catered for when they break down than ever.

Commenting on the announcement, RAC CEO Dave Hobday said: “To be named as one of the top ten fastest-growing mid-market private companies in the UK is a huge testament to the hard work of all our colleagues.

“The RAC is an iconic brand and one that drivers know and trust. This confirmation of our growth demonstrates our strength within the market, and allows us to confidently move forward with investments that will deliver an even better service to our individual and corporate customers. The automotive market is changing rapidly, and our growth trajectory means we are extremely well placed to take advantage of opportunities that will help ensure the RAC becomes the go-to company for breakdown assistance, insurance and other services geared towards drivers.”
